Due to the nature of carbon fiber reinforced with fiberglass and the manufacturing processes involved, Carbon Creations hoods are not “direct bolt-on” parts and typically require preparation such as sanding, cutting, shaving, and filling gaps. In some cases, additional reinforcement may be needed in the fiberglass-reinforced areas, not the carbon fiber itself. Drilling holes may also be required for proper fitment, including for windshield washer nozzles and tubing. Depending on the design of the Carbon Creations hood, not all components from the original hood, such as washer systems and other accessories, may be transferable.

Hood Latch Adjustments
Carbon Creations hoods typically require repositioning the hood latch to ensure proper alignment and secure closure. This involves carefully adjusting the latch up/down or forward/back until the striker catches securely. Since carbon fiber reinforced with fiberglass can have slight variations, additional fitting, such as enlarging mounting holes or using shims, is sometimes necessary. You may also need to adjust or remove hood bump stops for proper alignment.

Hood Accessories: Scoops and Other Modifications
Carbon Creations offers a range of hood accessories, including scoops, to enhance the look and performance of your vehicle. Attaching a hood scoop usually involves drilling mounting holes in the hood and using bolts or adhesive, depending on the scoop design. When installing scoops on carbon fiber reinforced hoods, additional reinforcement may be required in the fiberglass-reinforced areas to ensure secure attachment. Proper measurement and fitting are essential to avoid leaks and maintain the structural integrity of the hood.

For the best results, Carbon Creations strongly recommends professional installation by a custom shop experienced in handling carbon fiber reinforced with fiberglass products. Traditional auto repair shops may not have the necessary expertise to perform these modifications.
